- Purple Ark Ministries, engages in humanitarian efforts with focus on outreach, relief for working poor families and homeless community, provides assistance and special relief which serve the needy and the poor. Help for the area's poor and homeless often comes in the shape of an old purple school bus driven by Placentia resident and constant charity volunteer Danny Smith. Just this last holiday season, Smith said he and members of his Purple Ark Ministries group distributed about 400 boxes of groceries in the neighborhood of Walnut and Center streets in Placentia. Often his bus passes out donations throughout North Orange County. Smith pulls his volunteers from seven different churches around the north and central Orange County areas. He also distributes materials provided local business, churches and local government agency.
